Eugene Jarvis Honored at the Robotron: 2084 Celebration Event

This past weekend the Star Worlds Arcade in DeKalb, IL held a special event to celebrate 30 years of Robotron 2084 (you might recall that a lot of big names are turning 30 this year) and the highlight of the event was the man who designed the game appearing to play it, Eugene Jarvis. In addition to playing the game and hanging out with players, Mr. Jarvis received an award from Walter Day of Twin Galaxies, honoring his lifetime of achievement in video games. Since Robotron, Jarvis has been behind many other games (Defender, Blaster, NARC, Smash TV, Crusin USA, among many others) and still works in the video arcade industry today, particularly with his company made to replace Midway’s exit from the amusement industry, Raw Thrills. New Big Buck Hunter Title Unveiled In Las Vegas

AOU is just a couple of days away where we will see some new arcade products in Japan but when it comes to games that are intended more for a Western release, the Amusement Expo in March is where we go to for information on that front. Until today there had been zero word out there regarding what we might expect to see down in Las Vegas this year but as you already now know from the title of this post, one new game we know about is the next installment of the popular Big Buck Hunter series. Wisconsin Badgers Play Big Buck Hunter Before Rose Bowl

Wisconsin and Oregon met the Rose Bowl media on Wednesday at the Marriott Los Angeles Downtown. There, as they do leading up to any game during the season, the Badgers and Ducks fielded reporters’ questions. The crowd was bigger, though, considering this is the Granddaddy of Them All. Oh, and there was also some fun, with the players taking their turns on Big Buck Hunter. Full Story
